GPS Tracker and Instamapper.com Review
Courtney and I went out for a bike ride yesterday and so i decided to try out a new program for the iPhone called GPS tracker.

GPS tracker uses the built in GPS of the iPhone to record your location data and transmit it at specified intervals to the Instamapper.com servers.

Once the program is launched, you leave it running (but put the screen to sleep) and can put the phone in your bag or pocket. We opted to head East on our ride, which had us going up in elevation about 450 feet over 5 miles. Once we reached our destination, we had some lunch and then made the much easier downhill trip back. The great thing is that as the phone is recording and transmitting the data, it can be viewed in real time on the instamapper.com website and can be shared with friends and family. Each track places a yellow dot on the map, and also gives access to the lat/long of the corrdinate, speed of travel, and altitude. All very nice information to have for tracking purposes.

Once you have completed your journey, you can head over to the website and create start and finish points for the journey, giving your pertinant details about the trip.

on my phone it constantly asks me do I want to let the software operate which is annoying. I had thought about having a phone hotwired to my battery to use as a vehicle tracker but with the constant asking for permission is this possible?
